I read a quote a couple of days ago that actually inspired me to write this post. The quote was talking about hobbies and how you need 3 hobbies in order to survive. You need one that makes you think, one that makes you money, and one that expresses creativity. I like this quote because it divides different kinds of hobbies into 3 main sections. I feel like I have so many hobbies but I don’t know what section they can go under, so I took the time to list them and section them. There are going to be 3 posts about my hobbies and each post is going to be a section.
Hobbies That Make You Think
In my free time, I try not to think or do things that require me to think. This section may be short because I like to do things that don’t require me to think.
- Making/Playing Music (I play a variety of different instruments for school and for fun including Clairanet, Bass Clairanet, Percussion, Piano, and Gutiar. I like to watch music tutorials on YouTube and print out sheet music online. I also like to write my own pieces as well.)
- Playing Golf (I’ve been playing golf for about 3-ish months and it is, in my opinion, the easiest sport ever. For one thing, its really quiet and for the most part you don’t really have talk to people. It also can be really slow paced, meaning you can take your time. I like to play with my Step-Dad and my golf coaches because they both always tend to give me advice on how to play better. Some of the best courses I’ve played at are in Dillion, Hamilton, and Frenchtown, which are all based in Montana. You have to think a lot in golf because you have to aim your club at a specific angle and calculate how far you have to hit your ball and what club you should use.)
- Reading( I’ve been reading since preschool and since then, I’ve read a lot of books. I’ve always read at a higher level, even as a kid so I’ve read a lot of books. When I was little, my parent (Mom) never really had time to teach me how to read so in the end, she ended up buying me books and I learned how to read them myself. I’ll talk about some of my favorite books in a different post, but I feel like if you have a favorite author who writes a lot of books, then you can never be truly bored. )
- Writing (I’ve recently discovered this hobby and so far, I think I’m pretty good at it. I write a lot of different things from writing screenplays, to writing my very first book. I’ll post some updates about it soon and maybe I’ll post a couple of chapters, but it’s a work in progress. I do write screen plays for films and I’ll post some of the storyboards soon but they are also a work in progress.)
To sum it up, I don’t really do a lot of hobbies that require me to think, but the ones I do I’m really good at.
